Take a trip down memory lane this summer to those simpler times in life when every day was a playday! Reiman Gardens is pleased to announce its 2024 summer exhibit, Garden Playhouses, featuring a variety of custom-built, fully accessible playhouses from June 1 through September 30, 2024.

The playhouses will be interactive structures that invite visitors to celebrate nature from a different perspective or within a special place. Each playhouse structure will be in different areas across the Gardens’ 17 acres. These playhouses will also be utilized for educational programs, youth storytelling, and small events. The playhouses are created to represent 11 different design inspirations, including:

  • Dear Reader: An outdoor library-themed playhouse.
  • Childhood Reflections: Where imagination and the outdoors collide.
  • Prairie Schoolhouse: Inspired by the Ames Hoggatt School one-room schoolhouse.
  • Hobbit House: Inspired by hobbits; sure to be a fan favorite.
  • The Stargazer: A visual cornucopia of acrylics and color.
  • The Burrow: A totally tubular playhouse.
  • Polycarbonate Cube: Made from recyclable materials.
  • Woodland Tent House: A naturalistic part of our living landscape.
  • Pole Bean House: Inspired by vines and The Secret Garden.
  • Moss Garden: An earthy playhouse with a moss roof.

The Garden Playhouse exhibit is a part of Reiman Gardens’ theme in 2024, called The Living Landscape,” and is designed to be a memorable experience for all ages. Make your summer plans now to visit Reiman Gardens and relive your childhood through unique playhouse experiences, June 1 – September 30, 2024.
