Join the Iowa Bonsai Association at the Reiman Gardens as we showcase the art of Bonsai in the fall season.
Bonsai involves the cultivation and artistic shaping of trees, creating a miniature version of a full-sized tree through careful pruning, wiring, and training.
The aim is to create a harmonious and balanced Bonsai as a living piece of art that can be viewed in every season. This year’s theme, "Bonsai, Fall Color and Silhouette," showcases deciduous conifers and tropical trees as the growing season comes to an end and dormancy begins.
What to expect at the show:
On formal display will showcase some of Midwest’s finest Bonsai trees, antique and contemporary pots, stands, and accent plants. You will also find Bonsai related items for sale from vendors as well as a wide range of things at the Iowa Bonsai Associations bazaar tables.
IBA members will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss all things Bonsai. Saturday, there will be a formal demonstration in the auditorium from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. moderated theater style focusing on seasonal work. Sunday, from 1p.m. thru 3 p.m., we will have informal demonstrations in the auditorium.
