Annual Theme, Exhibits, and Art

Daffodils and Sycamore Falls at Reiman Gardens

Annual Theme

Reiman Gardens' staff use a new theme to inspire its horticultural displays, educational programs, events, and products in the Gift Shop each year. The theme emphasizes a new dimension of the garden so guests can visit again and again to see and learn something new in the everchanging and exhilarating displays. We are excited to announce our theme for 2026: BIG and Small.

Stay tuned for additional details about our summer exhibit and all of the events and programs that will honor 30 years as a university garden!

Current Exhibits

Each year, our outdoor garden spaces, Hughes Conservatory, and Garden Room each feature sculptures and artwork that reflect the annual theme. Over the years, Reiman Gardens has also collected many works of art integrated throughout the grounds. Find descriptions of each piece of art and its location here.

    Current Hughes Conservatory Display

Welcome to a World of Big and Small!
    On display January 24 - April 18, 2026

This Hughes Conservatory display launches our 2026 theme, Big and Small, blending bold statements with intricate details. Towering above it all is a large flower sculpture, conceptualized in-house and brought to life by student employee Keelie Fleener. Below, focal plantings burst with forced bulbs: dramatic ornamental alliums both large and small, daffodils with oversized trumpets, and romantic ‘Big Love’ tulips. Begonias and root vegetables reveal the hidden diversity of underground storage organs—bulbs, corms, rhizomes, and tubers. Look closely for the Elegance series pansies, whose double, ruffled blooms prove that sometimes small things make the biggest impression!
