A Bloom Like No Other
Reiman Gardens is thrilled to announce the blooming of the corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) on loan from ISU’s Bessey Greenhouse (Richard W. Pohl Conservatory) under the guardianship of Kenny McCabe.
"Stink Floyd," as it has been affectionately named, is one of the world’s largest and most unusual flowering structures, blooming only once every 7 to 10 years with the bloom lasting 24 to 48 hours. When it does bloom, it emits a powerful odor reminiscent of rotting flesh. The plant is currently housed in our Hughes Conservatory.
Stink Floyd bloomed on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at a height of 78.5 inches.
