Spring Break Camp

Reiman Gardens is growing in a big way for 2026. With camp capacity doubling, even more young explorers will have the opportunity to spend their summer discovering, creating, and learning in one of Iowa's most unique classrooms. Designed for ages 6-7 and 8-10, the expanded camps blend hands-on STEAM learning with immersive nature experiences that spark curiosity and creativity.

To support this growth, Reiman Gardens is hiring two certified teachers, who will work alongside our dedicated interns. Youth and Family Education Coordinator, Molly Barten, shared, "I'm excited and hopeful to see our summer camps continue to expand and grow. With the extra certified teachers here at the Gardens, we can provide even more children with a supportive, engaging environment where learning feels like an adventure."

Camp days will include STEAM-centered activities focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math, along with time spent exploring outdoor garden spaces. Campers will also have the opportunity to spend time in special places like the Conservatory, Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing, and even the Entomology Lab.

The 2026 camp season offers a variety of themed weeks designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Throughout the summer, campers will engage in hands-on STEAM-based activities that encourage them to ask questions, test ideas, and discover how science and art connect in the natural world. Whether exploring wildlife, uncovering patterns and textures in nature, or participating in interactive experiments, each week is built to inspire problem-solving and imagination.

In addition to full-day themed camps, Reiman Gardens will also offer Bookworm Camps that blend literacy with nature exploration. These sessions combine engaging stories with outdoor discovery, helping campers connect reading with real-world experiences in the Gardens. Together, these offerings create a summer experience that balances structured learning, creative expression, and meaningful time spent exploring the Conservatory, Butterfly Wing, and surrounding gardens.

To make planning easier for families, a 2026 camp season pass is available now through the end of March at a discounted rate. The Season Pass, offered for the first time ever, includes all three weeks of STEAM Camp at a discounted rate (must purchase by March 31). With expanded capacity, certified teachers, and an even stronger STEAM focus, 2026 is shaping up to be the biggest and most exciting summer yet here at Reiman Gardens.
