Corpse Flower plant in a tropical conservatory

A Bloom Like No Other

Reiman Gardens is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated blooming of its corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) on loan from ISU’s Bessey Greenhouse (Richard W. Pohl Conservatory) under the guardianship of Kenny McCabe.

"Stink Floyd," as it has been affectionately named, is one of the world’s largest and most unusual flowering structures, blooming only once every 7 to 10 years with the bloom lasting 24 to 48 hours. When it does bloom, it emits a powerful odor reminiscent of rotting flesh. The plant is currently housed in our Hughes Conservatory.

Bloom Watch: We are currently anticipating a bloom of Stink Floyd between May 10 and May 12. Stay tuned to Reiman Gardens' Facebook and Instagram pages for bloom updates!
