Ames, Iowa — Reiman Gardens is thinking big for 2026 — and small, too. The public garden has officially announced its 2026 annual theme, “Big and Small,” promising a year filled with larger-than-life experiences, intricate details, and plenty of BIG (and small) surprises waiting to be discovered around every corner.
Throughout 2026, guests will be invited to explore the contrast, connection, and wonder found in the natural world — from towering blooms and bold installations to tiny pollinators and hidden garden moments. The theme will be woven into seasonal events, educational programming, exhibits, and signature festivals that celebrate both the grand and the miniature.
“Nature has a way of impressing us at every scale,” said Christine Prescott, Director at Reiman Gardens. “Whether it’s a massive sculpture, a sweeping floral display, or a tiny insect doing vital work, Big and Small reminds us that every detail matters — and there will be some truly big surprises along the way.”
