Days/Entry Times

All tickets are for a specific day and entry time window (ex. 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.). You must enter during your time window but may stay as long as you like. We encourage you to visit after 7:30 p.m. to avoid larger crowds. The final ticket entry time will be 8:30pm-9:00pm each night, with entry gates closing at 9:00 p.m. The Gardens will close at 10:00 p.m., and all guests must leave by this time

QR Codes Required for Check In

After purchasing tickets you will receive a confirmation email that includes a “Go to your tickets” link. Please click on this link to view your tickets. See a sample ticket below. You will need to either print your tickets or have them available on your phone when you check in for the event. We will scan the QR code on the ticket to check you in. Please read your confirmation email carefully! Your confirmation email will include important information about Spirits in the Gardens. Please take the time to read through everything.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds or exchanges on any special event registration, though reservations may be transferred to another person or persons for the same date, time and price category you registered. Registrations are not refunded for any inclement weather including, but not limited to, snow, wind, rain or cold or extreme temperatures. Event will be held rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather conditions that threaten the safety of our visitors, volunteers and/or staff, Reiman Gardens reserves the right to cancel this event and issue refunds or transfers to another date.

Please note that PayPal is the payment processing system used for purchases to programs/events at Reiman Gardens. You do NOT need to have a PayPal account to pay with a credit card. Transactions will appear as PayPal, Iowa State University on your credit card statement.

Friday, October 11: Jack-O-Lantern Sneak Peek, 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (entry times)
Please note there will be no candy, shows or other entertainment this evening, just hot, fresh pumpkins. A cash bar will be available on Friday evening only (must be 21 years of age).

Saturday AND Sunday, October 12-13: Spirits in the Garden, 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (entry times)

5:00-7:00 p.m.

  • ISU Cosplay Club (Candy Factory)

5:00 -9:00 p.m.

  • Jack-0-Lanterns, Hollusion Holograms, Glowing Orbs and Sycamore Falls Lighted Tower
  • Candy Factory on the Events Plaza (Treats are available ALL evening at the end of the route)
  • ISU SCUM-Chemistry Show (Garden Room, main complex)

The entrance to Spirits in the Gardens is at our East Entrance and not our Main Entrance. This will be marked by signage. See the Directions and Parking Map for details.

The path is approximately ¾ of a mile and is under 5% slope and takes 40-80 minutes to walk in entirety. View the 2024 Route Map for details.

The entire path is ADA accessible. 80% of the path is paved. We apologize, but we are not able to check out our wheelchairs or mobility scooters during this event due to liability issues. You are welcome to bring your own motorized mobility scooters or wheelchairs. If you need special accommodations, please contact the Director of Guest Services at 515-294-8994 or rrule@iastate.edu.

Bathrooms are located in our Main Building, Hunziker House and at Sycamore Falls. These are marked on the on 2024 Route Map. Please note that our paths are ONE WAY, so if you would like to use the restroom before you start, we ask you return to the start of the path, which is also marked on the map. If you need to use the restroom BEFORE entering the event, there will be Porta-Potty’s located in the ISU Athletics Green Space located to the east of parking lot S2. See the Directions and Parking Map for location.  

Wear your favorite costume or comfy clothes. Bring trick-or-treat bags to collect candy (Saturday and Sunday only). Strollers, wheelchairs, and motorized mobility scooters are welcome. No bicycles, skateboards or other vehicles are allowed. We apologize but we are not able to check out Reiman Gardens' wheelchairs or mobility scooters during this event due to liability issues. You are welcome to bring your own motorized mobility scooters or wheelchairs. No animals are allowed unless they are service animals. Please do not bring pets or emotional support animals.

Some smart phones and GPS list Reiman Gardens and our mailing address in the wrong location. Instead of entering Reiman Gardens or our address, enter into the map’s search field “intersection of University Blvd and South 16th Street." Please see the Directions and Parking Map for directions to our entrance from the intersection of University Blvd and S. 16th St.

Reiman Gardens will close early at 4:00 p.m. to set up for 
Spirits in the Gardens on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13.

The Butterfly Wing and Gift Shop are NOT open during this event.
